Incident Summary:
On 01/22/2021 at 3:31 PM, The St. Louis County Sheriff’s Office, Grand Lake Fire Department, Canosia Fire Department, Hermantown Fire Department, Air National Guard Fire Department, and Solway Fire Department responded to the report of a garage fire on the 6100 block of Old Miller Trunk Highway in Grand Lake Township. Upon arrival, the garage was fully engulfed in flames and beginning to spread to the house located about ten to fifteen feet away. Firefighters successfully extinguished the fire before the house received any structural damage, but the garage was determined to be a total loss. No injuries were reported from the incident. At this time the cause of the fire is unknown and remains under investigation by the St. Louis County Sheriff’s Office and Minnesota State Fire Marshall.
