Incident Summary:
On 10/27/2020 at approximately 1122 hours, the Bois Forte Police Department received a report that a 16 year old juvenile male had been drinking and took the family vehicle without permission. At 1135 hours, St. Louis County Sheriff's Deputies and the Breitung Police Department responded to a report that the same juvenile had stolen a bottle of alcohol from the Ledge Store in Vermilion Lake Township. The juvenile male had fled the scene in the same vehicle he had taken without permission.
At 1319 hours, St. Louis County Sheriff's Deputies received a report of a single vehicle accident in the 6300 block of Tarkman Road in Vermilion Lake Township. The juvenile male involved in the previous incidents, crashed the vehicle he was driving into a ditch. The juvenile was unconscious when law enforcement arrived on scene. The juvenile was transported by Virginia Ambulance to Essentia Health Hospital in Virginia with non-life threatening injuries. Alcohol was involved and charges are pending.
