Incident Summary:

On 9/23/2020 at approximately 6:21 P.M., the East Range Police Department, Gilbert Police Department and St. Louis County Sheriff's Office responded to an incident in the City of Aurora.  The incident was between a male bow hunter and a male city resident.  During the incident a physical altercation occurred.  During the physical altercation, the city resident pulled a handgun and fired one shot directly into the ground.  There were no injuries related to the gunshot and only minor injuries to the city resident during the physical altercation.  The incident is currently being investigated by the St. Louis County Sheriff's Office.  As this is an active investigation, the St. Louis County Sheriff's Office will update this press release once a charging decision is made by the St. Louis County Attorney's Office.  That decision is expected either late Friday or early next week.
