On September 10, 2020, at approximately 5:30 PM, St. Louis County Sheriff Deputies were dispatched to the 4000 block of Fairview Road in the City of Rice Lake for a report of an ATV accident with injuries. When deputies arrived on scene they located the ATV driver, LANE, laying in the middle of Fairview Road, unconscious. LANE was transported to a local hospital in serious condition. LANE was not wearing a helmet at the time of the accident. Speed is a contributing factor. St. Louis County Sheriff's Office would like to remind all ATV riders to obey all traffic laws while riding on public roadways and recommends that all ATV riders regardless of age or experience wear a helmet.
