Incident Summary:
On 9/7/2020 at approximately 9:00AM, the St. Louis County Sheriff’s Office, Rice Lake Fire Department, Lakewood Fire Department, Gnesen Fire Department, Normanna Fire Department, and the Air National Guard Fire Department responded to a call of a garage fully engulfed in flames on the 5500 block of Jean Duluth Road in Rice Lake Township. There were no occupants in the garage at the time of the fire but two vehicles and an ATV were destroyed. Firefighters were able to extinguish the fire before nothing more than minor cosmetic damage occurred to the house which was approximately 25 feet away. The garage was a total loss. No injuries were reported from the incident. The cause of the fire is unknown but does not appear to be of a suspicious nature. The incident remains under investigation by the State Fire Marshall and the St. Louis County Sheriff’s Office.
