Incident Summary:
On Friday August 29th at approximately 6:30 P.M. St. Louis County Sheriff's Office received a report of an accident involving a skid steer tractor at an address in Clinton Township (South of the City of Mt. Iron).
A 15 yr old male from the Britt, MN area was assisting others in moving a tree with a Bobcat T300 tractor type machine. The youth, along with his father, were standing in the bucket of the tractor while it was being driven by an adult male. As they were in the process of moving a tree across the property, the juvenile male fell off the tractor and was run over by the machine.
Despite life saving efforts by first responders, the youth was pronounced deceased at the scene of the accident.
The incident remains under investigation by the Sheriff's Office, and the victims name is being withheld pending notification of family.
Sheriff's Office was assisted on scene by the Virginia Ambulance, North Memorial Air Medial, Clinton Fire Department / First Responders, MN State Patrol, and the Eveleth Police Department.
