Incident Summary:

On April 5, 2019, Agents from the U.S. Border Patrol were conducting a welfare check on Jordan M. Grider, who had been staying at a campsite off the Sioux Hustler Trail since October 22, 2018.  Agents located the campsite and found large amounts of blood inside the campsite.  Investigators from the St. Louis County Sheriff's Office arrived and gathered evidence but were unable to locate any signs of Jordan Grider due to deep snow.

On April 25, 2019, St. Louis County Sheriff's Investigators, along with Agents from the U.S. Border Patrol, U.S. Forestry Service and St. Louis County Rescue Squad, conducted an extensive search of the areas around the campsite.  Some skeletal remains were recovered.

Today, August 20, 2020, those skeletal remains have been positively identified as Jordan M. Grider.  The exact cause of death remains unknown, although foul play is not suspected.
