Incident Summary:
On 6/27/2020, at approx. 6:14 AM St. Louis County Deputies were dispatched to McNiven Rd. in Balkan township regarding a report of an armed robbery.
Deputies located a male victim who reported he had been robbed at gun point on a wooded trail off of McNiven Rd. in Balkan Township. The victim advised earlier in the morning he, Latour, Maher, McVay and another individual had been driving around Chisholm in his vehicle. The victim reported eventually he, Latour and Maher exited the van and began walking down a trail off of McNiven Rd. during which time Latour and Maher produced handguns, robbed him at gunpoint, taking his wallet/contents and an undisclosed amount of cash. The victim reported following the robbery, Latour and Mahar fired 3-4 shots from their handguns to scare the victim from following them back to the vehicle. The suspect proceeded to steal the victims vehicle and fled the area.
Afterwards, the victim walked some distance before coming upon a residence where he was able to call 911 for assistance. Sheriff's Deputies investigated the incident and about 12:00 PM on June 27th located and took Latour Sr. and McVay into custody during a traffic stop near Duluth, MN.
On 6/30/2020, both Latour Sr. and McVay were formally charged in St. Louis Co. 6th District Court (Hibbing) with felony charges of Aggravated Robbery in the 1st Degree and Motor Vehicle Theft. Latour Sr. remains in custody at the St. Louis County Jail.
At the time of this press release Damian Maher has not been located by authorities. A felony St. Louis County warrant has been issued for Maher's arrest on charges of 1st Degree Aggravated Robbery and Motor Vehicle Theft.

DAMIAN MAHER WAS LOCATED AND TAKEN INTO CUSTODY LAST NIGHT 7/1/2020 AT APPROX. 11:30 PM BY THE DULUTH POLICE DEPT. HE IS CURRENTLY IN CUSTODY AT THE ST. LOUIS COUNTY JAIL IN DULUTH.
