Incident Summary:

On 05/14/20, at approximately 2000 hours, St. Louis County Deputies responded to a single vehicle accident in the 4000 block of the West Tischer Road in the City of Rice Lake.  The initial investigation indicated that Hansey was driving west along W. Tischer Road, when he crossed over the centerline into the oncoming lane, leaving the roadway, and striking a power pole in the south ditch. 

Hansey was treated at the scene by members of the Rice Lake Fire Department/First Responders and the St. Louis County Rescue Squad.  Hansey was transported by Mayo Ambulance to Essentia/St. Mary's Hospital in Duluth for non life threatening injuries.  Hansey was not wearing his seat belt when he crashed.  Alcohol and/or drug intoxication are believed to be contributing factors in the crash.  The incident remains under investigation by the St. Louis County Sheriff's Office.
