Incident Summary: On May 8, 2020, at approximately 6:15 PM, Deputies with the St. Louis County Sheriff's Office responded to the area of Thompson Hill Road and Ormsby Road, in Midway Township, for the report of a motorcycle accident with injures. Upon investigation, deputies learned that the driver of the motorcycle was being driven west on Thompson Hill Road when the driver lost control of the motorcycle and was ejected. The driver was identified as a 23 year old male and Midway Township resident and was not wearing a helmet at the time of the crash. The driver was treated at the scene by Midway EMS and Mayo Ambulance, before being transferred to a Duluth hospital by Mayo Ambulance in critical condition. Assisting at the scene: St. Louis County Rescue Squad, Mayo Ambulance, Proctor Police, Midway EMS, Proctor EMS, St. Louis County Sheriff's Office.

The motorcycle driver involved in the accident has been identified as Gage Thomas Erickson. As of 1430 hours on 05/09/20, Erickson remains in critical condition.
