Incident Summary:

On Sunday May 3rd at approximately 9:20 P.M., St. Louis County Sheriff's Deputies, along with the St. Louis County Rescue Squad, Cook Ambulance, Cook Fire Department, Virginia Ambulance, and Life Link Air Medical were dispatched to an ATV accident with injuries in the 3200 block of Randa Rd, on the Northern side of Lake Vermillion, in rural Cook, MN.

When Deputies and first responders arrived on scene, they found the driver and lone occupant of the ATV laying in the roadway next to the overturned ATV and being tended to by local residents.

Despite life saving efforts of emergency personnel, the 53 year old female driver was pronounced dead at the scene.

It appears that the victim was driving southbound on Randa Rd. (which is a gravel road), when the ATV suddenly swerved to the right, causing the ATV to roll several times and ejecting the driver.

The cause of the crash remains under investigation by the Sheriff's Office.

The victims name is being with held pending notification of the family.
