Incident Summary:

On November 18th, 2019 at approximately 0904 hours, the Cook Fire Department was dispatched to the report of a fire in the maintenance shop area of the Elbow Lake Lodge, in Beatty Township, north of the City of Cook, MN.

The reporting party noticed some smoke coming from the approximate 30'x60' shop area and when he opened the door, he was overcome by smoke, shut the door, and then called 911. The building housed various maintenance items and implements for the operations of the resort, and suffered severe damage.

The MN State Fire Marshall responded to the scene, and along with the Sheriff's Office is investigation the cause of the fire. It does not appear to suspicious in nature.
