Incident Summary:

Deputies from the St. Louis County Sheriff's Office Responded to the call of logging equipment on fire near a logging operation off of N. Alden Lake Road, north of Duluth. Fire crews were able to extinguish the blaze, but the piece of equipment is considered a total loss. The Caterpillar 521B Feller Buncher that was burned is valued at over $500,000 dollars. It was owned and operated by Doug Hustad Logging. At the time of the fire the logging operation was idle, and the fire is being investigated as a possible arson at this time. Anyone who was in this area during this time frame, and may have saw anything suspicious is urged to call  the St. Louis County Sheriff's Office Investigations Division at 218-336-4350.
