Bridging Health Duluth to present community health assessment findings and improvement plan

Bridging Health Duluth, a community health collaborative, will hold its second annual Shaping a Healthy Communities luncheon on October 23, from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. at Clyde Iron Works, 2920 West Michigan Street. Citizens and stakeholders are invited to attend the free lunch and participate in the discussion. Bridging Health Duluth will be sharing the results of its 2020-2022 Community Health Needs Assessment and Community Health Improvement Plan, and is seeking community involvement in work around three priority areas: youth substance use, mental health, and food insecurity.

The event will include opportunities for attendees to connect with community professionals, explore the assessment results and action plan, learn about Bridging Health Duluth’s work, discuss community efforts to address health disparities, and find out how to get involved.

At the first Shaping a Healthier Community event in October of 2018, Bridging Health Duluth received input from 40 community organizations and more than 100 community members on the community’s most pressing health problems. Based on that input, Bridging Health Duluth completed the health assessment and selected its three priority areas. At this year’s event, attendees will learn about the assessment results and share their work related to the priority areas.

The event is supported by Bridging Health Duluth’s member organizations: Essentia Health, St. Luke’s Hospital, St. Louis County Public Health, Generations Health Care Initiatives, and Zeitgeist. These organizations have aligned their resources, skills, expertise and interests to collaborate towards a healthier Duluth.
