St. Louis County hosts panel discussion on future of health care

How will health care change in coming years? How will health care providers and insurance companies adapt to those changes? St. Louis County Human Resources is hosting a panel discussion on the topic, featuring noted representatives from area hospitals, and the insurance and pharmaceutical industries.

 

"Reinventing Health Care" will be Friday, October 18, from 3:30 to 5 p.m. at Hoops Brewery, 325 South Lake Avenue in Duluth.

 

The panel discussion will feature: Dr. Craig Samitt, President and CEO of Blue Cross and Blue Shield of Minnesota; Dr. Stephen Schondelmeyer,a professor of Pharmaceutical Economics in the College of Pharmacy at the University of Minnesota; Dr. Michael Van Scoy, Essentia Health; and Joe Drexler, Director of Population Health and Strategy at St. Luke's. Former journalist - turned activist Michelle Lee will serve as moderator.

"St. Louis County has a long history of partnering with our broader community to benefit our citizens and employees, and so we welcome the panel's forward thinking dialogue.
