Incident Summary: On 9/26/19 at around 4 PM, the St. Louis County Sheriff's Office, Virginia Fire Department, MN State Patrol, MN DNR, Pike Sandy Fire and the St. Louis County Rescue Squad responded to a water emergency on Big Rice Lake in Sandy Township.  Ritacco and a friend (Brennan Carlson) had been out duck hunting in separate kayaks.  Ritacco's kayak started to take on water and sink.  Ritacco was able to get Carlson's attention by firing off a couple of rounds.  Carlson then paddled over to Ritacco where he was able to hang onto Carlson's kayak and bring him to shore.  Ritacco was uninjured.
