Work on Courthouse skywalk, 2nd Street in Duluth begins Monday

Motorists who travel on 2nd Street between Mesaba Avenue and 4th Avenue West in Duluth should expect land closures and detours beginning Monday, Sept. 16. St. Louis County is doing work on both the substreet infrastructure on 2nd Street, as well as replacing windows in the skywalk that connects the Courthouse to the 3rd Street parking ramp. Work on the two projects is being coordinated to take place at the same time to minimize the disruption to traffic.

Signs will be posted to indicate when lane closures are in place, or when a detour to 4th Street is required. Motorists are reminded to slow down and use caution any time they are traveling in or near a work zone.

The projects are expected to be completed by mid to late October.
