Incident Summary:
On 7/27/19 at approximately 2:16PM The St. Louis County Sheriffs Office, The Duluth Police Department, The Duluth Fire Department, St. Louis County Rescue Squad, Minnesota DNR, and U.S. Coast Guard responded to a call of a male had who had been reported trespassing on CN Property near the Ore Docks. The male was reported to be exhibiting odd behavior when police arrived to check on him and he entered the water going under and never resurfaced. The Duluth Fire Department located the submerged male and brought him to shore. The male was transported by Mayo Ambulance to a Duluth Area hospital. Lifesaving efforts were performed, but the man ultimately died at the hospital. The male is estimated to be around 45 years old, but positive identification is pending. The incdent remains under investigation by The St. Louis County Sheriffs Office.
