Forum set to discuss link between marijuana use and mental health

What are the risks of recreational marijuana use versus the benefits of prescribed medical marijuana? And how can they affect mental well being?  A community forum on the topic will be held Wednesday, April 24, from 4-6 p.m. at the Eveleth Auditorium, 421 Jackson Street in Eveleth.

The forum, Marijuana and Mental Health Community Solutions, will include presenters from

Leafline Labs, a medical cannibis provider; and from Lakeview Behavioral Health and Arrowhead Center. There will also be a panel discussion featuring a police officer, probation officer, Drug Court attorney, and social worker.

The event is free and open to the public, and will begin with a light dinner and resource fair at 4 p.m., followed by presentations and a panel discussion at 4:30 p.m.

The forum is presented by St. Louis County Public Health and Human Services, with support from Snickers Pizza, J&T Sales, and Essentia Health. For more information, email Jana Blomberg at blombergj@stlouiscountymn.gov.
