Incident Summary:  On February 22, 2019, at approximately 5:38 PM the St. Louis County Sheriff's Office was dispatched to the Vermilion River Tavern in Buyck, MN in Portage Township regarding a snowmobile accident with injuries.  Holt was riding with a larger group of riders on the Voyageur and Arrowhead Trail system coming from the Vermilion River Tavern and heading towards Elephant Lake, when he struck a snow covered beaver dam causing his snowmobile to roll. Holt was thrown from his snowmobile. Holt was able to ride his snowmobile back to the Vermilion River Tavern where he received medical care from Buyck First Responders and the Orr Ambulance Service.  Holt was transported to the Cook Hospital and treated for non-life threatening injuries.  The accident is being investigated by the St. Louis County Sheriff's Office.
