Incident Summary:

01-28-19, 1530 hours SLCSO was dispatched to a snowmobile accident with injuries on the Taconite Trail approximately 5 miles Southwest of Ely, MN.  Nims was traveling alone on the Taconite Trail heading from Tower to Ely when he lost control of his snowmobile on a left hand curve in the trail , left the trail right side, and collided with a tree along the trail.  The accident was discovered by a trail groomer minutes after the accident occurred and summoned help.  Nims was transported to the Ely Hospital for non-life threatening injuries.  The accident is under investigation by the SLCSO.
