Incident Summary: On January 26, 2019, at approximately 6:00 p.m., St. Louis County Deputies responded to the 5000 block of Rice Lake Road for a report of a two vehicle crash. When deputies arrived, they learned that a truck being operated by a 30 year old Duluth man was traveling North on Rice Lake Road when he crossed over the center line colliding, nearly head on, with a Toyota Prius that was occupied by a 19 year old male from Cross Lake, Minnesota and a 21 year old female from Woodbury, Minnesota. All three parties were transported to local hospitals where they are being treated for what appear to be non life threatening injuries. The driver of the truck is currently being investigated for driving while under the influence of a controlled substance. Speed and inattentive driving are also believed to be contributing factors of the crash.
