Forum set to discuss link between e-cigarettes and mental health

What is the connection between mental health and vaping (e-cigarette use)? And what should the public know to better address the situation? A community forum on the topic will be held Wednesday, February 6, from 4-6 p.m. at the Eveleth Auditorium, 421 Jackson Street in Eveleth.

The forum, E-Cigarettes and Mental Health Community Solutions, will include discussion about e-cigarettes and their rising popularity, nicotine addiction and treatment options, and conversation about community solutions. The event is free and open to the public, and will begin with a light dinner and resource fair at 4 p.m., followed by presentations and a panel discussion at 4:30 p.m.

The panel discussion will include representatives from law enforcement, schools, probation, treatment councilors and others.

The forum is presented by St. Louis County Public Health and Human Services, and is sponsored by the offices of Commissioners Keith Nelson and Mike Jugovich, as well as Essentia Health. For more information, email Jana Blomberg at blombergj@stlouiscountymn.gov.
