Incident Summary:

On 1/22/2019 at approximately 9:18am St Louis Sheriff's Deputies responded to a 2 vehicle head on collision in the 4900 Block of Hwy 31 in Brookston MN.     A southbound passenger car driven by Donald Ecklund crossed over, on a curve, into the oncoming traffic lane where it struck  a northbound pickup truck driven by Brian Lofquist head on.  Both vehicles were a total loss.  Lofquist walked away from the accident.  Ecklund was transported to Essentia St Mary's Hospital by Cloquet Ambulance for sustained injuries.  Slippery road conditions, and driving too fast for road conditions appear to have contributed to the cause of the collision.
