Incident Summary:
Fire crews from 6 area departments (Clinton Twp, Cherrry Twp, McDavitt Twp, Fayal Twp, and cities of Mt. Iron and Kinney) are currently on scene of a house fire in rural Iron, MN in Clinton Township (approximately 10 miles South West of the city of Virginia). Deputies were called to the scene by the homeowner who called 911 to report smoke and flames coming from a rear room of the occupied residence.
When deputies arrived on scene, they found the homeowners still inside of the smoke filled residence attempting to remove personal belongings from inside. Medical personnel responded and checked the occupants for smoke inhalation, and were treated on scene.
The cause of the fire is under investigation by the MN State Fire Marshalls office and the Sheriff's office.
No injuries have been reported at the time of the press release, and the residence is considered a total loss.
