Incident Summary: At approximately 0515 hours in the morning of 11/20/18, Deputies along with Canosia, Hermantown and Grand Lake Fire departments were dispatched to a house on fire. The sole occupant of the house was sleeping at the time and was woken up by his smoke detector. He was able to get out of the house safely and with no injury. It appears that the fire started in the chimney and spread to the rest of the house. The house sustained substantial damage. The Sheriff's office would like to remind people to check their smoke detectors to ensure they are working properly.
