Incident Summary:

On November 12th, 2018 at approximately 8:47 P.M., the St. Louis County Sheriff's Office received a report of a structure fire at Zups grocery store in Cook, MN. A Sheriff's Deputy arrived on scene within one minute of the initial report and observed smoke and flames coming from the rear of the store. The Deputy immediately requested mutual aid from the surrounding fire agencies to assist in fighting the fire. 

Multiple fire crews battled the blaze overnight, and at the time of this press release, are still on scene working to extinguish the fire.

The cause of the fire remains under investigation by the Sheriff's Office, and is being assisted by the MN state fire marshals office. The business received extensive damage and is believed to be a total loss. 

The store was not open at the time of the fire and there have been no reported injuries to citizens or first responders at this time.
