Incident Summary:
On October 28th, 2018 at approximately 07:55 A.M., St. Louis County Sheriff Deputies received a report of an ATV crash with injuries on the ATV trail near the 7200 Blk of Hwy 47 in Meadowlands Twp.
Upon arrival, first responders found the 38 yr old male driver and lone occupant, had been thrown from the machine after striking a deer on the ATV trail. The side by side ATV had rolled multiple times after striking the deer, and due to the driver not wearing the safety belt system, he was ejected from the machine.
The driver was transported from the scene by Meadowlands Ambulance. However, he was pronounced dead shortly thereafter by medical personnel.
The cause of the crash remains under investigation by the Sheriff's Office. The Sheriff's Office is working with the Midwest Medical Examiners Office to determine the cause of death.
The identity of the victim is being withheld pending family notification.
