Incident Summary:
On October 6th at approximately 5:47 P.M., St. Louis County Sheriff's Deputies and the St. Louis County Sheriff's Office Rescue Squad were dispatched to the report of a family of four that had become lost in the wooded area of Skibo, southwest of Hoyt Lakes, MN.
The family had left their cabin on ATV's for a ride earlier in the afternoon, and along the way they had stopped the ATV's and ventured off on foot.
The family of four ultimately got turned around in the woods and were unable to locate their ATV's.
After calling 911 and obtaining their GPS coordinates, Rescue Squad personnel were able to locate the family unharmed with the use of their ATV's and tracked vehicles.
The family was able to return to their cabin unharmed.
