Oregon Congressman to visit Clear Path Clinic to learn about opioid treatment efforts in St. Louis County

St. Louis County Commissioner Pete Stauber has invited Congressman Greg Walden of Oregon to Duluth on Wednesday to learn more about the treatment and recovery help being offered in St. Louis County for people battling opioid addictions. Rep. Walden will visit the Clear Path Clinic, 1402 East Superior Street in Duluth on Wednesday at 1:30 p.m.

Walden chairs the House Commerce and Energy Committee and is the author of H.R. 6, the Substance Use-Disorder Prevention that Promotes Opioid Recovery and Treatment (SUPPORT) for Patients and Communities Act.

Walden will participate in a round table discussion involving Stauber and Commissioner Beth Olson, along with representatives from Clear Path. The meeting will also include a tour of  the facility to learn more about the local partnership that led to the six-bed withdrawal unit and expanded office-based opioid treatment and medication assisted treatment at Clear Path. Funding for the program comes from the County and the Minnesota State Targeted Response to the Opioid Crisis grant.
