Public meeting scheduled on Superior Street and bridge project planned in East Duluth
St. Louis County Public Works has scheduled a community meeting to discuss plans and gather input on a project to reconstruct a portion of Superior Street, including the bridge over the Lester River.
The meeting will be Wednesday, August 29, at 6 p.m at the Portman Park Community Center, 4601 McCulloch Street.
The project is planned for 2019, and would include reconstruction of Superior Street from 60th to 61st Avenues East, rehabilitation of the bridge over the Lester River, and pedestrian improvements at 61st Avenue East. The involved blocks of Superior Street will be closed to traffic for the duration of the project, with motorists detoured to Highway 61
Work will be timed to begin after Grandma's Marathon, and to be completed before the North Shore Inline Marathon.
