On 08/22/2018 at around 1756 hrs. St. Louis County 911 was
notified of a structure fire at 2278 E Shore Rd. in Pequaywan Township. The
caller reported a shed near the lakeshore was on fire, and the fire was
spreading into the trees.
A St. Louis County
Deputy Sheriff, the Pequaywan Volunteer Fire Department, and the Minnesota DNR
responded. Firefighters found the shed fully engulfed and suppressed the fire.
The shed was a total loss. No injuries were sustained.
The cause of the fire is unknown, but it originated in the
area of an old, disused electrical winch in the rear of the shed.
