Incident Summary:

On February 17, 2018 at approximately 1:32 PM, the St. Louis County Sheriff's Office, along with members from the Cook Ambulance Service and Bearville First Responders, responded to a snowmobile accident with injuries on HWY 5 South of HWY 22 in rural Cook, MN in Morcom Township.  Haak was operating his sled alone traveling southbound in the East ditch of HWY 5 just South of HWY 22 when his ski caught a section of old barbed wire fencing in the ditch.   Haak was thrown from his snowmobile, which also overturned.  Haak was complaining of back pain at the scene.  Haak was transported by the Cook ambulance service to the Cook hospital with non-life threatening injuries.  The accident was investigated by the St. Louis County Sheriff's Office.
