Public meeting scheduled for Woodland Ave. and Calvary Road project
Significant road and utility improvements are being planned for portions of Woodland Avenue, Calvary Road and other connecting streets in the area in 2019. A public meeting has been scheduled to gather public input and inform property owners in the area about what's being planned, and how their access and utilities will be affected during the construction period.
The meeting will be this Thursday, March 1, at 6 p.m., at the Woodland Community Recreation Center, 3211 Allendale Avenue. Representatives of both St. Louis County Public Works and the City of Duluth will present information and answer questions about the project schedule, construction impacts, lane configuration, parking and street lighting.
The project is a joint effort between the County and City, and includes full road and utility reconstruction for Woodland Avenue between Anoka Street and Calvary Road, as well as on Calvary Road from Woodland Avenue to 300 feet west of Austin Street, and Austin Street from the intersection with Woodland Avenue to 400 feet west.
Additionally, Calvary Road will see pavement rehabilitation and water main replacement from Arnold Road to just west of Austin Street where the previously described work ends. Lastly, pavement rehabilitation is planned for Calvary Road between Howard Gnesen and Arnold Roads, 1st Avenue between Calvary and Martin Roads, and Arnold Road between Calvary and Martin Roads.
