Autism information session focuses on eating, sleeping and behavior

Strategies to encourage health eating, creating ways to foster better sleep, and decreasing toxins to increase positive behavior - these sound like topics any parent would appreciate advice on addressing. For parents and caregivers of children with autism, these topics are all the more important.

On Wednesday, February 7, from 5:30-7 p.m., Dr. Susan Larson Kidd will present Biomedical Beginnings: Eating, Sleeping and Behaving Workshop. The session will be held at DRCC, 5629 Grand Avenue in Duluth. It is targeted towards parents and caregivers of children affected by autism, as well as providers. The presentation also will focus on the basics of the stopmach-brain connection.

The workshop is the latest in a series offered by St. Louis County Public Health and Human Services, thanks to a grant from the Minnesota Department of Human Services.

A light dinner is included with the presentation, and childcare will be provided. Advance registration is recommended by calling Laura Birnbaum at 218-726-2492 or email birnbauml@stlouiscountymn.gov.
