Incident Summary:
The St. Louis County Sheriff's Office would like to remind citizens to be aware of a current phone scam. The Sheriff's Office has received multiple, recent reports of callers posing as law enforcement officials telling parties that they "have missed federal jury duty and have arrest warrants". The caller goes onto state that the person can clear up the warrants by sending cash or some other form of payment. The St. Louis County Sheriff's Office would like to remind citizens that the Sheriff's Office will not call a citizen and demand immediate cash/other payments, over the phone, in order to clear up arrest warrants. Citizens are advised to not divulge any financial or credit card information or agree to send any kind of payment. If people have any questions they are advised to call their local law enforcement agency.
