Incident Summary:
On 12/26/2017, at 4:30 PM the St. Louis County Sheriff's Office received a report of a structure fire at 6894 Hwy. 73 in Balkan Township.
Upon arrival, responders found heavy smoke and flames coming out of the residence. All three adult occupants were able to get out of the residence to safety and later went to Fairview-University Medical Center in Hibbing to be checked for smoke inhalation.
The residence suffered significant fire, smoke and water damage. The fire is under investigation by the Sheriff's Office and MN State Fire Marshall's Office to determine the origin and cause.
