Incident Summary:

On December 16th, 2017 at approximately 1613 hours, the St. Louis County Sheriff's Office responded to the call of an unresponsive male in the Saginaw area. Upon arrival it was determined that Skare was deceased. Skare's dog was also found deceased inside the cabin. The preliminary cause of death for Skare and his dog appears to be carbon monoxide poisoning. The source of the carbon monoxide likely came from a generator running inside of the cabin. The exact cause of death will be determined by the Midwest Medical Examiner's Office

The St. Louis County Sheriff's Office has responded to multiple carbon monoxide deaths involving generators in the past couple years. We urge citizens using generators as a power source to make sure they are placed a safe distance from living and sleeping quarters.
