Town Line Road near Fayal Township closed due to culvert failure

A segment of Town Line Road (also known as UT 9132) near Fayal Township has been closed due to a culvert failure. Approximately .8 of a mile is closed from U.S. Highway 53 extending east to just passed South Fire Trail.

The closure is expected to last several weeks while necessary permits are acquired and materials ordered to complete repairs before winter.

During a routine inspection, St. Louis County Public Works staff noticed abnormalities on the surface pavement that indicated joint separations below. Heavy rain and the resulting higher than usual water levels in recent weeks are believed to be the cause.

The recommended detour is to use County State Aid Highway 16 (Wilson Rd) and County Road 389 (Clyde Road)
