Incident Summary:

On August 8, 2017 at approximately 1:21 A.M., St. Louis County Sheriff's Deputies responded to an Assault at the Sawmill Saloon Bar in Mt. Iron, MN.  When Deputies arrived they located a female adult inside of the bar with a stab wound to the left side of her stomach.  The female victim was transported by Virginia Ambulance to the Virginia Regional Medical Center for her injuries.  The victim was subsequently transported by Virginia Ambulance to Essentia Health St. Mary's Hospital in Duluth with non-life threatening injuries that will require surgery to repair. The female suspect had fled the scene prior to law enforcement arrival.  

On August 8, 2017 at approximately 1:15 P.M. Ashleigh Marie King, 28, of Hibbing, MN, turned herself into the St. Louis County Sheriff's Office in connection with this investigation.  King was arrested for 2nd Degree Assault and subsequently booked into the St. Louis County Jail in Virginia, MN.
