Incident Summary:

On July 29th, 2017 at approximately 1444 hour the St. Louis County Sheriff's Office and EMS staff responded the call of ATV rollover in Alborn Township. The rollover occurred on an off road trail in a remote area. EMS staff was able to reach the driver, Voight, and extract him using an ATV. Voight had been riding on a trail when he attempted to climb a steep hill, causing the ATV to roller over. Voight was not wearing a helmet and suffered serious injuries from the accident. He was airlifted to St. Lukes Hospital in Duluth and is currently in stable condition. Alcohol is believed to be a factor in the incident.

The St. Louis County Sheriff's Office would like to remind the public to wear the recommended safety equipment while operating their ATV's, as well as the increased danger of operating ATV's and recreational vehicles while under the influence of alcohol.
