Incident Summary:

The St Louis County Sheriff's Office responded to multiple calls of trees and power lines down in the Fish Lake/Taft Road area due to a severe storm that had passed through the area. There were also 2 calls generated for overdue boaters, both of which returned to their landing area without incident. A 3rd boater had motor issues and was stranded on an island. They were rescued by Canosia fire personnel and MN DNR Conservation Officers. No injuries were reported. Citizens in that area may still be without power and should report any trees blocking roads or on power lines. Power company crews are still working to restore power.

Assisting Agencies

St Louis County Public Works, Fredenberg and Canosia Volunteer Fire Departments, St Louis County Rescue Squad, MN Department of Natural Resources, US Border Patrol and staff at the Hi-Banks Resort assisted.
