Incident Summary:
On May 29, 2017 at approximately 3:50 a.m the St
Louis County Sheriff's Office responded to a report of a one vehicle
accident at the intersection of Canosia Road and West Arrowhead Road in Solway
Township. Upon arrival, deputies located five occupants that were riding
in a vehicle that left the roadway and over turned. An 18 year old passenger
was ejected from the vehicle and pronounced dead at the scene. Four other
occupants were transported to local hospitals and are currently
being treated for what appeared to be non life threatening injuries. The
driver of the vehicle is currently being investigated for driving while under
the influence, criminal vehicular homicide and criminal vehicular operation.
The name of the driver, occupants and deceased are currently being withheld
pending notification of family members. Alcohol is believed to be a
contributing factor. The accident remains under investigation at this time.

St. Louis County Sheriff Office continues to investigate the one vehicle accident at the intersection of Canosia Road and West Arrowhead Road in Solway Township. Driver of vehicle has been identified as 18 year old Austin Hilden. Austin was treated for his injuries, and is pending charges. 19 year old Whitfield, Axton who was a passenger, was ejected from the vehicle and pronounced deceased at the scene. Three other occupants Ganem, Colin 20, Wenzel, Terrance 19, and Vrooman, Dallas 20, were all taken to local hospitals with non - life threatening injuries. The accident remains under investigation at this time.
