Incident Summary: House Fire-Mountain Iron

On May 12th, 2017 at approximately 11:20 A.M. the Saint Louis County Sheriff's Office along with several Fire Departments responded to a house fire located at 8386 Gardenia Street in Mountain Iron.  The fire appeared to have started in the kitchen and the house was unoccupied at the time.  Fire crews were able to contain the fire to the kitchen area and they extinguished the fire quickly, however there were two dogs inside the home at the time of the fire and they were both found deceased. A cat was also inside at the time and has not been located.  The fire remains under investigation by the Saint Louis County Sheriff's Office and the State Fire Marshal's Office.
