Incident Summary:
On April 14, 2017 at approximately 8:18 PM, the St. Louis County Sheriff's Office, along with members from the Embarrass Fire Dept., Pike-Sandy Fire Dept., Vermilion Lake Fire Dept., Aurora Fire Dept., Babbitt Fire Dept., Babbitt Ambulance Service, and MN DNR, responded to a residential house fire in the 5300 blk of Nikula Rd. in Embarrass Township. A neighboring resident saw the fire and called 911. The residence was unoccupied at the time of the fire. It is believed that the initial cause of the fire was from an outside wood stove that transferred to the residence. The residence was a total loss as a result of the fire.
