Swearing-in details announced for Commissioners Stauber and Boyle

St. Louis County Commissioners Pete Stauber and Patrick Boyle have announced details for their respective swearing-in ceremonies. The two commissioners each won re-election in their districts to serve four-year terms.

Commissioner Pete Stauber will be sworn in Tuesday, January 3, at 8:10 a.m. at Proctor High School. Minnesota Appellate Court Judge Larry Stauber, a 1965 Proctor graduate and cousin to the commissioner, will administer the oath of office in front of an 11th grade American Government class. This will be Stauber's second term representing the fifth district.

Commissioner Patrick Boyle also will be sworn in on January 3. He will take the oath at 9 a.m. in the County Attorney's Office on the fifth floor of the St. Louis County Courthouse in Duluth. County Attorney Mark Rubin will administer the oath of office. Boyle was first sworn in, also by Rubin, in 2014 when we was first elected to fill the remainder of the term of the late Commissioner Steve O'Neil, representing the second district.

As was previously announced, Commissioner-elect Mike Jugovich will be sworn in Monday, January 2, at 6 p.m., at Chisholm City Hall. Commissioner-elect Beth Olson was already sworn in earlier this month.

Each commissioner is given flexibility to arrange a swearing-in ceremony that will be meaningful to him or her, and can take the oath of office any time between when election results are certified and the first Board meeting of the year, which will be January 3 beginning at 9:30 a.m.
