Incident Summary:
On 11/26/2016 at approximately 0828 hours, the St. Louis County Sheriff's Office and the Chisholm Police Department responded to the 100 block of 6th Street SW in Chisholm, MN, on a report of unknown trouble. While responding, law enforcement officers learned that a 21 year old male was allegedly being held at gunpoint against his will. Law enforcement officers eventually were able to secure the victim and detained 4 individuals on the property. It was later learned that the 21 year old male had been taken out of a vehicle at gunpoint near the intersection of Highway 7 and Iron Junction Road around 2300 hours the previous evening by a male wearing a Halloween mask. The victim was transported a short distance away and the suspect fired one shot from the handgun to threaten the victim further. The victim was eventually transported to an address in the 100 block of 6th Street SW in Chisholm, and made phone calls to attempt to secure his release for a predetermined amount of cash. Kyle Martin OLSON and Anthony Joseph LOKKEN were subsequently arrested at the scene in Chisholm and booked into jail for one count each of Kidnapping and 2nd Degree Assault.
This incident remains under investigation with additional arrests and charges expected.

Additional Information or Update:
Kyle Martin OLSON was formally charged in St. Louis County Court in Virginia, MN with one count each of Kidnapping, Kidnapping for Ransom, and Second Degree Assault. Bail was set at $100,000.
Anthony Joseph LOKKEN has not been formally charged. LOKKEN has been released pending further investigation.
