Incident Summary: On October 6th, 2016 at approximately 5:07 P.M. the St. Louis County Emergency Communications center took a 911 call from a person saying they had became lost while hiking on some trails near the Ash River Visitor's Center in Voyageurs National Park. It was learned that the individual hiker had departed for a walk around 3:30 P.M. and had become turned around as darkness fell. After searching the area on ATV's, boat, and on foot, the party was eventually located by members of the coordinated search party at 10:40 P.M. The individual was found to be in good health and uninjured from the ordeal.
