Incident Summary: The Saint Louis County Sheriff's Office responded to the report of a two vehicle crash at the intersection of Rice Lake Road and Emerson Road. Haupert was Eastbound on Emerson Road and appeared to have failed to stop at the stop sign. As a result, Haupert's vehicle was struck by a MN DNR dump truck pulling a heavy equipment trailer. Haupert suffered non life-threatening injuries and was transported to St Lukes Hospital. Kearns, who was driving the second vehicle was also transported to St Lukes Hospital with non life-threatening injuries. Both vehicles were heavily damaged and appear to be a total loss.
