St. Louis County Veterans Service Office to host town hall meeting in Ely
Military veterans and their families in the Ely area who are looking for information, or may have questions about their eligibility for certain benefits, will have the opportunity to meet and talk with a variety of experts. The St. Louis County Veterans Service Office is hosting a town hall meetings on Thursday, September 22, from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the Veterans on the Lake Resort, 161 Fernberg Road, Ely.
The meetings will include representatives from the Minnesota Department of Veterans Affairs, Minnesota Assistance Council for Veterans (MACV), the Twin Ports Outpatient Clinic, and the Silver Bay Veterans Home, plus staff from the offices of Rep. Rick Nolan and Sen. Amy Klobuchar, and the Disabled American Veterans (DAV) Transportation Coordinator. Additionally, there will be representatives available to talk about education, jobs and vocation rehabilitation.
"We want to make it as easy as possible for veterans to learn about the benefits they've earned," said Sherry Rodriguez, Director of the St. Louis County Veterans Service Office. "That means getting as many resources as we can in one place at one time, and it also means hosting these meetings in communities throughout our county."
